Originally the much needed service covered only the Elgin and Burgsea area until a dedicated worker was funded and employed to expand the service from Forres to Cullen.

In November 2004 the project became an independent charity, was renamed Community First and steps were taken to provide the ever popular service across Moray.

Coinciding with a move to Victoria House in 2010, the name was changed to Moray HandyPerson Services (MHPS) to better reflect the services being provided.
